Highly Capable-
Chapter 28A.185.020 RCW-The legislature finds that, for highly capable students, access to accelerated learning and enhanced instruction is access to basic education.
- Purpose- Wishram School District is focused on preparing all students to be contributing citizens in the future. We are further committed to developing the skills of all teachers so they can meet the unique needs of all learners, including those with exceptional aptitudes.
-Goal- Wishram School District's Highly Capable Program goal is to meet the unique academic, social, and emotional needs of intellectually gifted students in grades K-12.
-Definition- Highly capable students are students who perform or show potential for performing at significantly advanced academic levels when compared with others of their age, experiences, or environments. Outstanding abilities are seen within students' general intellectual aptitudes, specific academic abilities, and/or creative productivities within a specific domain.
